For fleets that park vehicles for weeks or months
Fleet Vehicle Storage

Counts on this page are sites we identified from public listings as of October 2, 2026. They are not live inventory, and none is bookable until the site agrees terms. The page is for cars and vans. Tractor-trailers have their own yards — see who supplies what in the Miami providers comparison.
| Job | Typical stay | What matters most | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Staging | Minutes to hours | Distance to the next pickup, an open exit, hours | Staging near demand in Miami |
| Overnight parking | One night | Hours, height, block size, who is responsible | Fleet parking by neighborhood |
| Overflow | Days to weeks | A contiguous block, 24/7 access, exit for drivers | Overflow near Miami airport |
| Storage | Weeks to months | Price per month, weather plan, security, condition record | This page |
| Wash or service visit | Hours | Where the water goes, who does the work | Washing vehicles in Miami |
How should a fleet price a month of storage?
Across all 178 Miami sites that show any monthly price, the range is $45 to $785 per space, a 17-fold spread, with a median of $200. These are listed car-size prices from public sources. A truck-class space is a different product: one Miami truck terminal publishes $700 a month for a tractor space.4 So the first question is not the price, it is which size of space the vehicle needs.
What happens to a stored vehicle in hurricane season?
A zone describes the land. A garage's upper levels can sit above street flooding, and an open lot has no upper level. FEMA's map service lets you look up the zone for any address.2 Then ask the site three things in writing: whether it moves vehicles before a storm, who has the authority and keys to do it, and what it does after a flood. If the site cannot answer, a lower price is not a bargain. The Miami storage guide breaks the numbers down by lot type.
What belongs in a storage agreement?
| Item | Why it matters | In the Miami list |
|---|---|---|
| Price unit | A daily rate over 30 days costs several times a monthly permit. | 178 of 1,606 Miami sites show a monthly price (11%). |
| Access hours | Storage still needs pick-ups at odd hours. | 1,145 list hours of any kind (71%). 857 list 24/7 access. |
| Height and stall size | A roof rack or lift gate decides whether a vehicle fits. | 189 list a clearance (12%). 38 list 8 ft (96 in) or more. |
| Gate and exit | Someone has to be able to get a vehicle out. | None records a gate type. |
| Fence and light | A vehicle that sits unseen for a month needs both. | 23 record either (1%). |
| Flood zone and storm plan | The land and the plan decide what a warning means. | 831 have a FEMA zone on file (52%). A storm plan is not in any listing. |
| Keys and who can move the vehicle | A site that moves vehicles in a storm needs the authority and the keys. | Not in listings. Ask. |
| Condition record | Photos at drop-off and pick-up settle damage claims. | Not in listings. Ask how it is recorded. |
| Exit terms | Minimum stay, notice and what happens if you leave early. | Not in listings. Ask. |
The blanks are the point. A listing that does not say is not a no, and it is not a yes. For a month-long stay, put each answer in the agreement. If the vehicle will sleep at a driver's home instead, check the local rule first: in Miami-Dade, for example, no more than two marked passenger vehicles under eight feet tall may be parked at a residence.5

Questions fleets ask about long stays
How is storage different from parking?
Parking is for a night or a shift. Storage is for weeks or months, so the questions change: a monthly price instead of a daily one, a plan for weather, security when no one is watching and a written record of the vehicle’s condition. There is no fixed day count that separates them.
Is a monthly permit always cheaper than the daily rate?
In the Miami listings that show both, yes. In 9 listings with a daily maximum and a monthly permit, 30 days at the daily maximum costs 2.6 to 5.6 times the permit. The daily maximum is not always offered to a stored vehicle, so ask the site what applies.
Do stored electric vehicles need anything special?
Often. Batteries and other systems usually have maker-specific storage steps, so get the procedure from the vehicle maker and ask the site whether it can follow it. XoomPark does not do battery or mechanical preservation work.
What is the average cost to store a vehicle?
It depends on the city and the space. In Miami, the 178 sites that show a monthly price per space have a median of $200, with a range of $45 to $785. Those are listed car-size prices from public sources, not quotes, and a van or a large block can price differently.
Is it legal to put a car in a storage unit?
It depends on the facility and local rules, and many facilities restrict it. Ask in writing before you move a vehicle. XoomPark finds lots and garages for fleet vehicles. It does not place vehicles in storage units.
What is the best way to store a car for long periods?
Follow the vehicle maker’s storage procedure first. Then settle the things a site controls: a monthly price, a storm plan, security, who holds the keys and a condition record at drop-off and pick-up.
Where does XoomPark have storage data?
Almost all of it is in Miami: 1,606 of the 1,643 sites in our public list. Elsewhere our list has fewer than 10 sites per metro, so this page uses Miami numbers as the worked example.
