Pickup · Drop-off · Staging
We're lining up off-street spots near transit stations and stadiums where robotaxis can pick up, drop off and wait. Ask us where a car should stop for an address. If we don't have a good answer, your car uses the curb or keeps moving, the way it does today.
Our spot when we have one. Your plan when we don't.
Checked, owner-approved, held for five minutes.
If the first one is blocked.
What your car does today.
Also what your car does today.
The fallback
Driving stays with you, and it should. XoomPark sits outside the driving loop. When we help, a car waits off the street near its next rider. When we can't, nothing changes from today.
Your software routes, drives and decides where to stop. We answer one question and log what happened. We never send a command to a vehicle.
If we’re slow, down or unsure, your system times out on its own clock and does what it does now: the curb, or keep moving.
Pull nearby spots ahead of time. If we go dark, your cars still have them.
Before a spot goes live, we check the entrance, exit, clearance, gate and cell signal.
If one is blocked, the car moves to the next one, or back to the curb.
Check-in and check-out are logged, so you and the site see the same record.
How a booking works
Five steps in the XoomPark OS API. If anything goes wrong at any step, the car goes back to your plan.
Your system sends an address and a time.
No good spot: use your plan.
Hold a spot for five minutes while the car heads over.
Hold runs out: it expires. Use your plan.
Confirm and get a check-in token for the car.
Spot blocked: cancel. Next spot, or your plan.
The session starts when the car checks in.
The car leaves whenever you send it.
Checkout closes the session and works out the cost.
Both sides see the same record.
Who does what
Your team
XoomPark
If we miss, your service keeps running. When we have a spot, your car waits off the street instead of circling.
Where we're starting
Transit stations
Trains and buses deliver riders all at once. A car waiting off the street, a short walk from the platform, turns that wave into rides.
Stadiums and events
A spot near the venue lets cars be waiting when the crowd comes out, so riders walk to a car instead of waiting for one.
The research
60%More daily fleet travel when cars had no place to wait
Researchers simulated 1,700 robotaxis serving 68,000 daily trips in San Francisco. When cars couldn't wait at the curb between rides, they kept circling, and daily fleet travel rose about 60%.2
They didn't model off-street lots for daytime waiting, noting that fleets have access to few of them during the day. That's the supply we're building.
Fair questions
Maps tell the car where the space is. XoomPark tells it whether it can use it.
Figures come from public reports. XoomPark isn't affiliated with the companies, agencies or researchers in them.
